It is very important to properly winterize your swimming pool skimmer if the weather in your area drops below freezing. You can use something called a “Pool Gizmo” to protect your skimmer. In this video you can see how the pool gizmo is inserted inside of the pool skimmer to protect it during the winter season. When the water in the skimmer freezes it will break / crush the pool gizmo instead of your skimmer.
